Short Film
Science-Fiction/Horror

A troubled boy realizes his new home is haunted when two girls break into his house ghost hunting, the apparition however is not at all what the trio expect, and yet, exactly what they need.

Synopsis

Tommy is new in town, and one fall evening, he finds himself home alone in a house that seems to whisper his name. That night, two teenage girls - Harlow and Darcy - break into Tommy’s house in search of the truth behind the ghost that haunts his new home.

Armed with the lore of an alien crash landing and a lonely lady who once lived there, the trio begin their hunt but are quickly separated by an entity unlike anything they expected. Now alone, the ghostly creature haunts each of them, forcing the trio to confront their own fears: of being afraid, of not being “special” enough, and of being alone and misunderstood.

Soon the teens discover that this lonely ghost is not what it seems, and that the lore of the haunting was as misunderstood as the creature who still remains. In order to solve the mystery and survive, Tommy, Harlow and Darcy need to mend frayed friendships, step out of their comfort zones, and embrace who they are so they can finally put the lonely monster to rest.

Craft

We set out to make The Invisibles using mainly practical effects and were successful!

Ghosts in mirrors, creatures lurking in shadows, a radio knob turning and a door opening creepily on its own. All we needed was some fishing wire, careful placement, timing, lighting, throw in a few editing tricks to help out and voila! Sci-fi horror with no visual-effects!

Proof anything is possible if you put your mind to it - even on a low budget!

Cast & Crew

In addition to all the fun that came with pulling off our practical effects old-school style, we also had the opportunity to do a few camera tricks! We had an amazing team that were able to whip up a cool camera rig that allowed us to rotate the camera as Tommy gets lured in by our lonely ghost.

Our team - in front of and behind the camera - pulled off the best tricks and made such a welcoming environment every day! We were so lucky to work with every single one of them and can’t wait for the next chance to work together again!

Coming Soon

I could write novels on how fun this film was to make! The cast and crew were phenomenal and made the entire experience so memorable. As a team, we can’t wait to get The Invisibles out into the world and onto your screens! We are sooooo close to the end! Hang Tight! The Invisibles is coming soon :)
